Elementary Band & Orchestra Programs

Ms. Mixter loves helping students find joy and new skills through music, and she is thrilled to be teaching band at Pine Lane Elementary School in Parker. She has a Bachelor of Music from the University of Colorado, a Master of Arts from the University of North Texas, and a Doctor of Musical Arts in Music Composition from the University of Wisconsin.

Since moving to the Denver area, she has taught private music lessons in Littleton and Parker. Her main instrument is the trombone, and she frequently plays as a substitute trombonist with Rocky Mountain Brassworks and the Denver Pops Orchestra; both of these groups have also performed some of her original compositions. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, birdwatching, and crafts.
