Brad Furlow

Mr. Furlow is an experienced music educator, performer, composer, and arts leader with more than 25 years of teaching experience in both school band programs and private studio instruction. A native of Southern Illinois, he began his career as Director of Bands in Vandalia, Illinois, after earning a Bachelor of Music degree with a concentration in Music Theory and Composition from Southern Illinois University Carbondale.


An accomplished pianist and low brass musician, Mr. Furlow specializes in tuba and euphonium/baritone performance. He currently serves as Principal Tubist with the Aurora Symphony Orchestra, where he also serves on the organization's Board of Directors. Through his performance and leadership roles, he actively supports the growth and advancement of the regional arts community.


In addition to his work as an educator and performer, Mr. Furlow is a composer whose portfolio includes works for concert band, orchestra, piano, and chamber ensembles. His compositions draw inspiration from both classical traditions and cinematic music styles.


Beyond his musical career, Mr. Furlow has professional experience in information management and basic web design, bringing strong organizational, technical, and digital communication skills to a variety of professional settings.


Outside of his professional pursuits, Mr. Furlow enjoys traveling, flight simulation, and spending time with his Siberian Huskies.
