Elementary Band & Orchestra Programs

Ben Garcia is a musician and educator based in Denver. He serves as bass trombonist of the San Juan Symphony in Durango and often performs with groups such as the Colorado Symphony, Colorado Ballet, and New Mexico Philharmonic. Currently a teaching assistant for the University of Colorado Boulder, Ben helped found the Four Higher Trombone Quartet. A Colorado native, he served as acting principal trombone with the Denver Philharmonic during their 2016 tour of China. He holds a master’s degree from the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University and a bachelors from CU Boulder.

An accomplished educator, he coaches young musicians at half a dozen of the state’s top high schools. During the summers, he is also a part time golf instructor and has taught golf and sports psychology to both adults and children ages 4 to 74. In his free time, Ben enjoys museums, hiking, camping, and fly fishing.
