Elementary Band & Orchestra Programs

Ms. Goldberg began playing the violin at the age of three, going on to earn a Doctorate in Violin Performance from Northwestern University.  Her lifelong passion for music led to a diverse career as a performer,  including playing with professional orchestras, touring with chamber music ensembles, recording commercial jingles, and sharing the stage with musical icons like Andrea Bocelli on the Oprah Winfrey Show.

Although  Ms. Goldberg loved being a performer, teaching has always been her greatest passion. She was first exposed to teaching as an 11th grader,  when her inexperienced orchestra conductor tasked her with leading the class. From there emerged a teaching career spanning over three decades,  including faculty appointments at several universities, including her alma mater, Northwestern.

Having just relocated to the area, Ms. Goldberg is extremely excited to join the DCYO and to bring her pre-college private studio, Goldberg Violin, to the Denver metro area. When she isn’t teaching, she and her husband can’t wait to hike the local trails. With the encouragement of her two college-aged daughters, she is also determined to continue training their beautiful but stubborn orange cats.
